Hanwella lineage upto Don Cornelis is described in detail on the Deed history of Ambagahawatte; Liwuna Amarasekara who was married to Baron Wijesinghe of Mulleriayawa, who did not have children of their own devided the above land in equal shares between families of two of Cornelis's sons and Mudliyar Don Johanis Amarasekara.

Therefore it can be assumed that Don Cornelis, Liwuna and Mudl. Johanis are siblings. The Golden Book of India mentions that Mudl. Johanis's father is Don Daniel Amarasekara, and that he descends from the Prime Minister of King Rajasinghe II, which links this lineage directly with the original Amarasekara lineage of Attanayaka, Ekanayaka & Amarasekara.

It is interesting to note that his parents' marriage record shows that they married in 1807, during at the time of registration they already had their first child Nathalia who was born in 1808. We are not sure exactly how many children they had, but two of the children Liwuna and Mudl.Johanis were born in 1820's (have records) and Cornelis's DOB can also be estimated to be around 1820's.
